Georgia firefighters help vet deliver 15 puppies

(COBB CO., GA.) – Firefighters in Georgia had the opportunity to help a pet clinic that recently helped them.
The emergency vet clinic received a dog that was delivering 15 puppies and the veterinarians knew they would need some extra help.
Just one week earlier, the vet clinic had provided pet CPR training to Cobb County Fire & Emergency Services.
They reached out to the fire statioon for help and three firefighters responded to the clinic and assisted in the delivery process.
“As the puppies were born, our firefighters helped by removing their amniotic sacs, clearing their airways, delivering any necessary drugs, and warming them up,” Cobb County first responders said.
The first responders had the opportunity to reunite with the puppies a few weeks later and one of the firefighters adopted one of the puppies.
“While this is certainly an atypical incident for the fire department, we welcomed the opportunity to give back to the community,” they added.
