“Her parents need to grieve and mourn," organizers said

(OSGOOD, Ind.) – A local family is grieving the unexpected loss of their infant after she contracted influenza.
The flu led to her being diagnosed with a rare and severe brain disorder known as Acute Necrotizing Encephalopathy (ANE), which can occur in children after viral infections such as Influenza A.
7-month–old Carlee Jo Orr is being remembered for her infectious smile and bright personality.
“Though her time with us was far too brief, the impact she made on her family and loved ones will never fade,” her parents, Sierra and Jacob, said.
Family and friends have launched a fundraiser to assist Sierra and Jacob during this difficult time.
“Her parents need to grieve and mourn. Funerals are expensive and should be the very last thing they need to worry about in addition to time away from work and hospital bills,” an organizer said.

There is also a benefit account at Napoleon State Bank labeled "Carlee Jo Orr Benefit."
The family added that they would like to thank those who have offered words of comfort and prayers during this difficult time.
