(HOLTON, Ind.) -- A Flood Watch is in effect as rain will continue to fall through Saturday.
The Flood Watch is in effect for the majority of the area until 5 a.m. Saturday.
Forecasters say at least one inch of rain is expected as heavy downpours could lead up to three inches in some areas.
“Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations,” the National Weather Service officials said.
First responders are warning the public to not drive through flooded roadways.
"A mere 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock over an adult. It takes just 12 inches of rushing water to carry away most cars and just 2 feet of rushing water can carry away SUVs and trucks. It is never safe to drive or walk into flood waters," the NWS added.
On Wednesday, several agencies responded to Holton where 3 people were stranded in their vehicle in a creek. All three were safely rescued. Read more about that story here or watch the video above.
