Historic earthquake in Russia prompts tsunami alerts in western U.S.

(HAWAII) – A historic earthquake off the coast of Russia has prompted tsunami alerts in the United States on Tuesday evening.
A Tsunami Warning has been issued for Hawaii, Alaska and parts of Northern California.
Other parts of California, Oregon and Washington are currently under Tsunami Watches.
If it forms, a tsunami is expected to impact Hawaii around 7 p.m. their time, which is 1 a.m. our time.
The 8.7 Magnitude Earthquake that occurred Tuesday is likely one of the biggest to have occurred in the past few decades.
