(VALLONIA, Ind.) – A manhunt is underway for an inmate who escaped from his work detail in Jackson County on Wednesday, police said.
Michael D. Anderson is an inmate at Edinburgh Correctional Facility and allegedly walked away from a work detail near the Vallonia Tree Nursery.
He was last seen near the area of Starve Hollow.
Authorities say Anderson is 5 foot 8 inches, 184 pounds, black hair and brown eyes.
“Anderson has multiple tattoos including a rose tattoo on right hand, royal crown on right arm, and Chicago Bulls logo on left leg,” police added.
He was last seen wearing yellow clothing, an orange hat and a Carhart type jacket.
Anderson might be wearing “long john” type underwear instead of yellow, police added.
“If you live in the area, lock your doors. However, we don’t think there is any threat to the public at this time,” the Jackson County Dispatch said.
