Also earned a spot on the national team

(VIRGINIA BEACH, VA.) – Dearborn County resident Aydra Keith has been practicing gymnastics since she was 3-years-old.
She is now 8-years-old and has just added the title of National Champion to her resume!
Keith qualified for the opportunity to represent the midwest region at the National Gymnastics Association (NGA) Nationals in Virginia Beach, Virginia this week.
She competed in four different competitions including vault, bars, beam and floor.
On Friday, she received two gold medals and was awarded National All-Around Champion in her division.
The Manchester resident also earned a spot on the NGA National team after she finished third out of 155 girls.
Aydra’s parents say her success on Friday is because of her hard work and dedication.
“She goes to the gym four to five days a week and never complains about practice,” said her mother, Taylor Keith. “She has worked very hard for this and is a very determined little girl.”
Taylor added, “We knew going into it that she could do great, but things don’t always go as planned. It was great seeing her do her absolute best and we are proud of her regardless of how she placed.”
Earlier this year, she was also crowned the All-Around State Champion. Aydra is a student at Aurora Elementary with a bright future in gymnastics!
