(HOLTON, Ind.) – Some local churches will serve as drop-off locations for Operation Christmas Child.

The nationwide initiative is organized by Samaritan’s Purse and residents are asked to bring shoeboxes filled with gifts from November 16-23.

Those gift-filled shoeboxes are then sent to children around the globe who are suffering from war, poverty, disease or disaster.

“Shoebox gifts may seem simple, but they have an eternal impact. Each box is an opportunity to tell a boy or girl in need about the true meaning of Christmas,” said Franklin Graham, president of Samaritan’s Purse.

The organization says shoebox packing can be fun for individuals, families and groups. You can learn more about it by clicking here.
