(BROOKVILLE, Ind.) – A longtime member of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department has announced his intention to run for sheriff.
Sgt. Adam Henson has been on the department for nearly 30 years and has held various leadership positions including law enforcement instructor, K-9 handler, field training officer, and administrative roles.
“I embraced administrative leadership, graduating from the Indianapolis Metro Police Department’s Leadership Academy and the Indiana Sheriff’s Association Leadership Course,” he said. “I now supervise the agency’s evening shifts and serve as the administrator for the Indiana Traffic Safety Grant, also known as Operation Pull Over. These roles have given me extensive experience in budgeting, scheduling, and officer management.”
In 2022, Henson received the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department Medal of Valor and Life Saving Award for his actions during a critical incident.
Henson is a lifelong resident of Franklin County and has served as a youth coach in multiple sports. He and his wife, Sally, have two sons and live in the Springfield Township area of the county.
“As your next Sheriff, I will continue advancing the agency’s mission and putting the safety and well-being of our community first,” he said.
Henson is one of three people currently vying for the position as the Primary Election will be held in May.
