(MILAN, Ind.) – The Milan High School Principal made good on a promise he recently gave his students.
Ryan Langferman challenged the students to raise at least $3,000 for the Polar Plunge Special Olympics fundraiser this weekend.
Langferman said he would join the students and jump into the lake if the funds were raised.
The high schoolers ended up raising close to $4,000!
There was one problem that could’ve prevented Langferman from fulfilling his promise.
The Polar Plunge takes place on Saturday which happens to be the same day that his son is competing in the IHSAA Wrestling Semi-State at New Castle.
Since he won’t be able to attend Polar Plunge he decided to take the plunge in his pond on Friday.
Students and some teachers gathered to watch Langferman take the plunge and you can watch the video above. It was provided by Milan student Kynadee Bode.
