(GUILFORD, Ind.) – The Miller-York Volunteer Fire Department has added a new state-of-the-art truck to their fleet.
The new apparatus replaces a 30-year-old rescue truck and it will be used to respond to all types of incidents including crashes, rescues and fires.
The Freightliner pumper has a 1,400 gallon water tank and will have equipment onboard such as extrication gear.
Department president Greggory Callahan is thanking the Dearborn Community Foundation for a grant which funded a portion of the project.
“Without them it would have taken several more years for funding to be achieved. We also would like to thank our community for the support they give to us. Their support allows us to have quality apparatus to serve and protect our community and neighboring communities,” Callahan said.
