Podcast: Musician, teacher incorporates Bright Elementary students in new song

(BRIGHT, Ind.) – Local singer-songwriter Maria Keck will celebrate the release of her second album with a performance in Lawrenceburg this weekend.

She is now going by the stage name Maria, etc. to reflect her musical growth and a shift to more of a folk-rock style.

Maria is a native of the West Harrison area and has worked at Bright Elementary as a music teacher for the past few years. 

Some of her students had asked if they could be featured on one of their songs. 

She found the perfect song in “Patience, My Love” which includes fifth graders singing the background chorus at the end of the song. 

Maria, etc. will be performing at Liberty Theater at 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 24.
