South Decatur’s historic season comes to an end

(SHELBYVILLE, Ind.) – South Decatur’s historic girls basketball season came to an end at the Semi-State on Saturday morning. 

The Lady Cougars fell to Borden 64-26 in Shelbyville. 

South Decatur has a lot to be proud of as they won the first regional title in 50 years of girls basketball at the school.

They were 12-point underdogs when they defeated Oldenburg Academy last Saturday. 

The team is led by Head Coach Kristen Hicks along with seniors Makayla Somers, Paige McQueen, Makayla Puckett, sophomore Taylor Somers, freshman Dalilah Martin and freshman twins Riley and Raegan Benge.
