South Ripley community rallies after 2-vehicle car crash

All involved have connection to South Ripley

(VERSAILLES, Ind.) – The South Ripley community is rallying together after a two-vehicle crash sent 4 people to the hospital on Tuesday. 

The two vehicles collided head-on on U.S. 421 near Rexville due to the slick road conditions. 

19-year-old Hailee Dowers and her sister, Savannah, were both flown to a Louisville hospital. 

“They are both hospitalized in Louisville with injuries that require surgeries and a long road to recovery,” a family friend stated. 

The other vehicle was driven by former Milan teacher and current South Ripley substitute teacher Ron Prosser who had his teenage granddaughter, Lana, in the vehicle.

Ron was flown to a Cincinnati hospital while Lana was taken to a local hospital. 

The conditions of all four victims are not known at this time, however there are ways you can help each family. 

How to Help the Prosser family

Lana is a South Ripley basketball player and her teammates have set up a donation drive to give gift cards to the family.

Gift cards of any type are being accepted for the Prosser family. They can be dropped off at Emily’s Brew in Versailles or at Encore Insurance in Versailles.

How to Help the Dowers family

Hailee and her sister are members of Shelby Christian Church in Versailles. 

The church has set up two different ways to benefit the Dowers family. 

For those outside of the church, there is an online donation form available.

Shelby Christian Church will also have a special collection (money or gift cards) on Sunday. The church is located at 6675 South U.S. 421 in Versailles.
