(ST. LEON, Ind.) – The annual Theo’s Gift 5K will help local families of children born with congenital defects.

Theo Elwell was born in 2023 and overcame multiple surgeries.

His parents, Danielle and Robert, saw the difficulties of not only learning how to care for their child, but how to balance jobs, family time and hospital stays.

They created Theo’s Gift which is a nonprofit that raises money for other local families navigating the complexities of having a child born with a congenital defect.

Money raised goes toward items such as medical equipment, gas, groceries, and bills.

“We have helped 21 families since getting starting in 2024 and hope to build even more momentum in 2027,” Danielle said.

The event also features a pancake and sausage breakfast along with basket raffle.

It will be held at the St. Joseph American Legion Post in St. Leon and you can register by clicking here.
