Town of Versailles gets $750K grant to improve water system

(VERSAILLES, Ind.) – The Town of Versailles is receiving a $750,000 grant to make improvements to their drinking water system.

The Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) will allow the Town to replace the aging water meter pits, water hydrants, service lines, and to demolish an unused water tank. 

This project was identified as a priority through the Town's Utility Planning Study in 2025. 

“That study gave us a comprehensive look at our utility infrastructure and helped identify the improvements needed to address aging infrastructure and plan responsibly for the future,” Town officials said. 

The Town added that they are grateful to OCRA for the grant to make these improvements.

“These projects aren't always the most visible, but they are critical to maintaining reliable infrastructure and supporting the future of our community,” they added.
