(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – Decatur County Memorial Hospital (DCMH) is getting national recognition for their commitment to breast cancer care.
The hospital has been selected to be featured in ‘Empowered’ which is a television segment hosted by actress and producer Meg Ryan.
Empowered highlights organizations that make a difference in their communities across America.
Some familiar DCMH faces seen on the segment include Dr. Boersma, Dr. Fletcher, Dr. Hasson, and Dr. Slaughter, who share how DCMH helps patients detect, treat, and defeat breast cancer.
“When breast cancer is caught early, outcomes are often significantly better,” said Dr. Boersma. “At DCMH, we are committed to making early detection possible for everyone in our community. We offer screenings, diagnostics, education, treatment, and ongoing support to ensure our patients feel cared for and never alone.”
DCMH credits their breast cancer care to community support, generous donors, and the Hospital Foundation of Decatur County.
The segment began airing this summer and will be featured on more than 150 public television stations across the country over the next year. The segment may also appear on other well-known networks.
“We’re honored to represent our community on a national stage and are incredibly proud of our providers’ ongoing leadership and dedication,” said Liz McCoy, Marketing & Communications Manager.
“If you catch the segment, let us know, and help us spread the word," she added.
