(METAMORA, Ind.) – Water has returned to the Whitewater Canal in Metamora.
The canal dried up last month after dry conditions and a maintenance issue at the Laurel Feeder Dam.
State officials were going to perform maintenance on the dam, however, there was a temporary land dispute between the state and a private property owner.
The dispute was later settled which allowed crews to perform the much-needed maintenance.
On Tuesday, water began flowing again in the canal.
