Collecting clothes today, will give them away later this week
(WESTPORT, Ind.) – A church in Westport is hoping to collect unused clothes and give them to families in need this week.
Westport Baptist Church is holding their “Family Clothes Closet” and it begins with the church accepting donations today.
Anyone can drop off gently used clothes at the Westport Baptist Church Outreach Center from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
“If you’ve got clothes to spare, now’s the perfect time to pass them on,” said Pastor Gary Johnson.
The church will then hold a clothes giveaway on Wednesday and Thursday. It will take place from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. both days and the clothes are entirely free for anyone who shows up.
“This is a ministry of the church that we enjoy doing. And of course, there's other Christians from other churches here in this community who help out with this ministry as well. So all in all, this is a huge blessing, I believe, to Westport and just to anyone who's in need of some clothes,” Johnson added.
The church is located at 202 East Main Street in Westport.
