Escaped work detail on Wednesday afternoon

Officials with the Jackson County Dispatch say 21-year-old Michael Anderson has been taken into custody.

(VALLONIA, Ind.) – The search continues for an inmate who escaped a work detail in Jackson County.
Authorities say 21-year-old Michael Anderson walked away from a work crew in the Vallonia area around 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
Anderson is serving a 3 year sentence for a burglary conviction in Lake County, which is in the Chicagoland area.
He is an inmate at the Edinburgh Correctional Facility but had been on a work crew in Jackson County.
Prison officials say Anderson is 5’8” and was last seen wearing yellow clothing, an orange hat and a Carhart type jacket. Authorities added that there is likelihood is no longer wearing that uniform.
He also has multiple tattoos, including a rose tattoo on his right hand, a Royal Crown tattoo on his right arm and a Chicago Bulls logo on his left leg.
The alleged escape led to a large police presence in the Vallonia area, where police have been stopping by homes while walking the woods and hills.
