Was involved in a police pursuit in northern Indiana

(OSGOOD, Ind.) – A tow truck that was stolen from an Osgood mechanic shop in January has been found and returned.
Russell McKay operates the family-owned Hometown Auto on Buckeye Street.
The truck was taken right off the lot on the evening of Sunday, January 29 and the family immediately went to law enforcement and also asked for the public's help to find it.
“It’s more sentimental than anything, this is a family-run business, and I taught my boys how to operate it because one day it would be theirs,” McKay said.
It seemed unlikely that they would see the truck again until receiving a call from the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Department.
McKay says the tow truck was hauling a car that was allegedly stolen, when a police pursuit ensued.
McKay was told that the driver took a corner too fast and the car went off the tow truck and crashed into a telephone pole. The tow truck went over an embankment and nearly over a ravine.
Despite that, it suffered limited damage and is repairable.
The tow truck is now back in Osgood at the shop and the family is thanking the community members who helped spread the word.
The tow truck had also traveled to the Cincinnati area before that pursuit in Lafayette, McKay added.
